CARRIER GUIDELINES: APTDECO

AptDeco is a secondhand marketplace for home furnishings. When you book a shipment with AptDeco, you are facilitating the shipment between an individual or business seller and an individual buyer. Please review the following terms carefully.

PICKUP AND DELIVERY HOURS

Pickup Hours: Contact seller for availability
Delivery Hours:  Contact buyer for availability

 
Contact pickup and delivery locations within 24 hours of booking to arrange appointments, as well 24 hours prior to arrival at pickup and delivery locations.

 

SELLER & BUYER CONTACT HOURS:

Customers may be contacted between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
(Based on the customer’s time zone)

APTDECO REQUIREMENTS FOR CARRIERS

FAILURE TO FOLLOW GUIDELINES MAY IMPACT YOUR ABILITY TO BID ON FUTURE APTDECO SHIPMENTS

 

  • All AptDeco shipments must be transported in an enclosed trailer, box truck, or sprinter van. Under NO circumstances may the carrier use a car, station wagon, minivan, horse trailer, or open truck to transport AptDeco shipments.
  •  

  • All items must be blanket wrapped (doubled blanket if using thin blankets).
  •  

  • Inspect the item at pickup to ensure the item matches the following descriptions:
  • Good Condition: Minor blemishes that most people won’t notice
  • Wear & Tear: Noticeable scratches or missing hardware
  • Smoke-free and pet-free home
  •  

  • Proof of delivery must be submitted for quick payment release. This includes a signed, legible BOL (eBOL when possible), clear photos of the pickup location item, photos of the loaded item secured on a truck, and photos of the item at the drop-off location.
  •  

  • A two-person team is required for all shipments (there may be stairs – please confirm upon booking).
  •  

  • Carrier will never request assistance from the buyer or seller in the loading or unloading of any items. This is solely the carrier’s responsibility.
  •  

  • Ensure that contact is made with the pickup and delivery locations 24 hours after booking is confirmed.
  •  

  • Carrier must also provide 24-hour notice prior to arrival at pickup and delivery locations.
  •  

  • Item Inspection: When you arrive at the pickup location, please examine the item to ensure the photos, dimensions, and condition match the listing. If the item is not as described for any reason (blemishes, dimensions, color, etc), please contact AptDeco prior to picking up the item via [email protected] with photos and a description of the discrepancies.
  •  

  • Assembly and Disassembly: While most items sold on AptDeco are fully assembled, some items may require light disassembly or reassembly (ex. screwing on or removing legs of a table) in order to successfully remove the item from the pickup location and deliver to the customer’s room of choice.
  •  

  • Damages: In the case that an item encounters damage in transit, please inform us immediately by emailing [email protected] with clear photos of the damage on the item.
