SOTHEBY'S HOME GUIDELINES FOR CARRIERS

*PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*

FAILURE TO FOLLOW GUIDELINES MAY IMPACT ABILITY TO BID ON FUTURE SOTHEBY’S HOME SHIPMENTS

 

  • A BOL is required for all Sotheby’s shipments – please use eBOL whenever possible.
  • Contact hours: 7 AM – 7 PM local time.
  • Please CC [email protected] when you email the customers. Sotheby’s will assist with communication and scheduling
  • Client Service and Carrier Phone Number: 212-606-7000.
  • If your schedule changes and you can on longer accommodate a shipment, please initiate a cancellation ASAP and do not contact Sotheby’s or uShip to initiate.
  • All weights are estimated.
  • Confidentiality of all pickup/delivery info.
  • Requirement of photo ID and in appropriate attire (shirt and pants or shorts).

 

Pickup and Delivery information:

  • Confirmation of a pickup appointment within 7 days of booking, failure to do so may result in a cancellation – contact pickup and delivery to schedule a mutually agreeable appointment.
  • Pickup and delivery appointments must be scheduled with the seller & buyer at least 48 hours prior to arrival. Please do not arrive at the pickup or delivery location without making contact first
  • Pickup and delivery hours and days vary by client, and due to COVID threshold and In-Home delivery requirements may also vary.
  • Unless requested by the seller or buyer, please do not reschedule the pickup / delivery appointments unless absolutely necessary.

 

Equipment and Coverage:

  • Insured vehicle and licensed driver, general liability, automotive liability, umbrella liability, etc. Confidentiality of all pickup/delivery info.
  • Minimum of blanket/shrink wrap, & enclosed transport in trailer, box truck, or cargo van required.

 

Payment Release:

  • All payment requests to be directed to Sotheby’s and should not be discussed with the buyer or seller.
  • Payment will be released by Sotheby’s within 24 business hours of receiving signed BOL, so please do not reach out prior.
  • Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in removal of the In-Home Delivery program

 

Top Seller Specific Instructions:

Design Within Reach:

  • Pickup Notes: Pickup on the outbound side of the warehouse
  • Pickup Hours: M-F / 8am – 4pm. Appointment must be scheduled.

Janus et Cie:

  • Pickup Notes: Do not try to pick up until you receive the Invoice Number. The item will not be released without it. It will take 24-72 hours to generate the Invoice Number following the shipment booking. If you have not received it within 72 hours, please contact [email protected].
  • Pickup Hours: M-F / 7am – 12pm and 12:30pm – 3:30pm. No appointment necessary. Don’t forget the Invoice Number.
